June WPI inflation more by 0.5 per cent

As per the official Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for the month of June 2015, WPI increased by 0.5 per cent from 177.7 to 178.6 for the previous month.

Based on the monthly WPI, the annual rate of inflation, stood at -2.4 per cent in June 2015 as compared to -2.36 per cent in May 2015 and it was 5.66 per cent in last year June 2014.
The Index for the Primary Articles group (including food articles, non food articles and minerals) rose by 1.4 per cent to 248.4 from 244.9 for the previous month.
The Index for the Fuel & Power group rose by 0.6 per cent to 191 in June 2015 from 189.8 in May 2015 due to higher price of turbine fuel, petrol and kerosene.
The Index for the Manufactured Products group (including food products, Beverages, Tobacco & Tobacco Products, Textiles, Wood & Wood Products, Paper & Paper Products , Leather & Leather Products , Chemicals & Chemical Products, Non-Metallic Mineral Products , Basic Metals, Alloys & Metal Products, Machinery & Machine Tools, Transport, Equipment & Parts ) rose by 0.1 per cent to 154.2 from 154.1 for the previous month.
