Siemens bottom line of Q3 waved 13 fold to Rs 168 Crore

The technology powerhouse company Siemens recently announced its unaudited results for the quarter and nine month ended June 30 2015. The company reported healthy 13 fold growth in Profit after Tax (PAT), which stood at Rs 168.26 crore in Q3FY15 compared to Rs 13 crore in Q3FY14. The improved profitability is a result of company's continued focus on operational excellence. In response to the strong result shares of the company gained more than 4 per cent and touched a one year high of Rs 1558 in the BSE on Thursday (6th August).

The company reported healthy 13 fold growth in Profit after Tax (PAT), which stood at Rs 168.26 crore in Q3FY15 compared to Rs 13 crore in Q3FY14. The improved profitability is a result of company's continued focus on operational excellence. In response to the strong result shares of the company gained more than 4 per cent and touched a one year high of Rs 1558 in the BSE on Thursday (6th August).

Siemens reported stable operating revenue of Rs 2376 crore in Q3FY15 against Rs 2374.42 crore in Q3FY14. The company registered 18 per cent decline in it orderbook, which stands at Rs 2234.08 crore as on June 30 2015 compared to Rs 2732.09 crores in the same period last year.

Its operating expenditure decreased by 8.56 per cent year on year basis to Rs 2122.90 crore in Q3FY15 from Rs 2321.61 crore in Q3FY14. All expense heads of Siemens declined sharply as compared to the same period of last year, which show the company's focused operational efficiency.

The EBITDA boosted strongly by 379.27 per cent on an annual basis led by increased operational efficiency, it reached Rs 253.10 crore in Q3FY15 and its EBITDA margin expanded by 843 basis points to 10.65 per cent in Q3FY15 yearly basis. The company's PBT too jumped almost 13 fold from Rs 19.55 crore in Q3FY14 to reach Rs 250.34 crore in Q3FY15 and its PBT margin expanded by 972 basis points to reach 10.54 per cent for the same period.

Its PBT surged mainly due to an increase in other income, which is almost double and stood at Rs 55.52 crores in Q3FY15 as compared to Rs 26.24 crore in Q3FY14. However, its PAT margin expanded by 653 basis points and stands at 7.08 per cent in Q3FY15.

Considering the segment wise revenue Siemens earned 29 per cent from the Energy Management segment, a 18.97 per cent from Process Industries segment, a 14.78 per cent from the Digital factory segment and the remaining 62.76 per cent from Healthcare, Power & Gas, Mobility, Building technologies and others segment during Q3FY15. The Company closed its Metals Tachnology business on December 31 2014 also its revenue from the Healthcare segment declined due to change in the revenue recognition accounting policy.
