The Nifty had a gap up start and afterwards showed some strength touching a day high in the morning trading session. However, the market traded in tight range till mid afternoon trade but in the second session the market steeped from higher levels & finally Nifty closed at 8001.95 levels with a gain of 53 points.

The advance-decline ratio ended on a positive side today. On the NSE Index, 33 stocks closed in green, while 17 stocks ended the in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: VEDL was top gainer, up by 5.65%, followed by ONGC,ZEE,CAIRN,NMDC.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: LUPIN was the top loser, down by -230%, followed by PNB,AMBUJACEM,COALINDIA,SUNPHARMA.
In today’s trading CNX MEDIA was the top gainer, gain with 2.29% whereas CNX PSU BANK was the top loser lose with -0.83%.
The Asian markets closed in the green; China's Shanghai Composite was up by +148.76 points, Hong Kong's Hang-Seng moved down by -228.87 points, while Japan's Nikkei was up by +561.88 points.
