Index Remains Range-Bound, Reliance Up By 5%

The Indian markets witnessed trading in tight range during the mid-market session. The same scenario was seen in the currency segment, wherein the -INR was seen trading at around 64.75 to the dollar. The Nifty is trading up by 25 points at 8264 and the Sensex is up by 128 points at 27343. The indices are trading on a positive note between 0.30 and 0. 47 percent.

The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side. On the NSE, 1482 shares are in the green and 1136 shares are in the red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Reliance is leading the gainers list so far and is trading higher by 5%. Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, Infosys and HCL Tech are among other gainers.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: ONGC is leading the losers list so far and is trading lower by 2.4%. It is followed by Adani Ports, Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra and Tata Steel.
In the mid-market session, 7 out of the 13 sectors are seen trading in the green zone. Healthcare has seen the highest gains and are trading higher by 200 points. FMCG and IT were up more than 50 points. Mid-caps and small-caps also were both up by about 80 points each. However Capital Goods, Bankex and Auto were trading in red.
All the Asian markets are trading on a mixed note since morning. Nikkei is the top loser so far and has depreciated by 160 points. The Hang Seng is trading higher by 8 points. The Straits Times and KOSPI were also trading on a positive note.
Buzzer: Reliance surged by 5% because of good Q2 earnings. The stock broke its first resistance of Rs 950 per share. If it sustains at current levels, we may see it at around Rs 980 per share at closing.
The Nifty future is struggling to break the 8280 level. If it closes above this level, we can see some more uptrend in coming sessions.
