Nifty Volatile, Metals Fall

The Indian markets are volatile but sliding in the red territory in the mid-market trading session. Thereafter Metals, Healthcare and Banking indices showed some weakness. The Nifty is trading down by 11 points at 8263, the Sensex is 40 points lower at 27324. The indices are trading in a range of -0.14-0.15 percent.

The advance-decline ratio is on the negative side. On the NSE, 1362 shares are in the green and 1340 shares are in red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Tata Power is leading the gainers list so far, up by 2.23%. Bosch, Power Grid Corp, Tata Motors and TCS are also in gains.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Vedanta is leading the losers list so far down by 6.1%, followed by Cairn India, Tata Steel, Hindalco and Adani Port.

8 of the 13 sectoral indices are in the red. Metals was the top loser, down by 128 points. Healthcare and Bankex were down by 41 points and 20 points respectively. On the other side, IT, Consumer Durabales and Auto has gained around 100 points each. Mid-caps and Small-Caps also were trading in green.  

All the Asian markets are trading on a mixed note from morning trading session. Nikkei is the top gainer so far, up by 75 points. Taiwan and Shanghai Composite were in positive note. However Hang Seng has also dropped 86 points.

Buzzer: The stock of Vedanta has witnessed a continuous fall from the morning session. The stock dipped by 6.4% hitting a low of Rs 100. It has broken a major support at Rs 105. If the stock sustains around this level, it may drop below Rs 90 in the next few trading sessions.

The Nifty has taken support around 8220. If it closes above 8250, it may recover further from the current levels.
