Nifty Hovering Around 8550, Bankex Slide

The Indian markets witnessed some consolidation in a wide range mid-session. The Banking stocks like SBI, ICICI Bank and PNB dragged the indices on lower side. The Nifty is trading down by 12 points at 8249 and Sensex is 15 points lower at 27291. The indices are trading negative between 0.15 - 0.06 percent.

The advance-decline ratio is balanced. On the NSE, 1194 shares are in the green and 1408 shares are in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Bajaj Auto is leading the gainers list so far, up by 3.28%. Bharti Airtel, Vedanta, Tata Steel and NTPC are also in gains.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Dr Reddys Labs is down by 3.2%, followed by GAIL, Asian Paints, SBI and ICICI Bank.
7 out of the 13 sectors are trading in the red zone. Bankex and Capital Goods were the top loser, down around 150 points each, Healthcare was also down by 100 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also surrounded the negative zone while IT, Metal and Auto continue to sustain on positive bias.
The Asian markets have all been in the negative since morning today. Hang Seng is the top loser so far, down by 86 points and Shanghai Composite is down by 118 points. However Nikkei and Taiwan remained in the green.
Buzzer: HDFC Bank has announced good Q2 results. Despite this, the stock has seen a reverse movement and hit a low of Rs 1090.
Nifty futures has been able to sustain above 8250 in today’s session. The markets are hoping for some recovery from the current levels to 8260.
