Mahindra Holidays Net Profit jumped by 17 per cent in Q2

Leisure hospitality provider Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India reported its Q2FY16 results, its total income from operations stood at Rs 233 crore in Q2FY16 as compared to Rs 198 crore in Q2FY15, rose by 17.48 per cent. The total expenses increased by 18.58 per cent to Rs 193 crore y-o-y basis. The EBITDA rose by 7.44 per cent to Rs 56.73 crore on yearly basis, EBITDA margin contracted by 227 basis points to 24.36 per cent y-o-y.

Mahindra holidays and resorts is an Indian leisure hospitality provider company and part of the Mahindra Group. The company is a part of the Infrastructure & Realty Sector of the Mahindra Group. The company's only operating segment is sale of vacation ownership and other related services. The company provides family holidays with a range of services.

The EBITDA rose by 7.44 per cent to Rs 56.73 crore on yearly basis, EBITDA margin contracted by 227 basis points to 24.36 per cent y-o-y.

Its profit before interest and taxes increased by 12.41 per cent to Rs 39.95 crore in second quarter of FY16 against Rs 35.54 crore in the same quarter of previous fiscal. Other income of Mahindra Holidays rose by 80 per cent to Rs 3.47 crore. The tax expenses grew by 14 per cent to Rs 14.48 crore on yearly basis. The Net Profit of Mahindra Holidays jumped by 17 per cent to Rs 29 crore in Q2FY16 as against Rs 24.72 crore in Q2FY15.

A 50 per cent growth in member addition during the quarter despite the current economic environment, is a reflection of the level of customer satisfaction, company was able to achieve and will try to continue the same in future.

"Our successful execution of the strategy to make Club Mahindra an aspirational brand that provides unique family leisure holidays along with lifestyle experiences, is helping create consumer pull for our offering. This is reflected in healthy operating metrics such as member additions, referrals and successful alliances," Mahindra Holidays MD and CEO Kavinder Singh said.

The FII holdings of Mahindra Holidays reduced by 172 basis points to Rs 8.31 per cent, the DII holdings increased by 237 basis points to 4.78 per cent as on 30th September 2015. Today, Mahindra Holidays is trading at Rs 402, around 2 per cent lower on BSE.
