Pharmaceutical major Sun Pharma is planning to expand its business in the global consumer healthcare space. Sunpharma is going evaluate its portfolio approach, and create mega brands making the smaller brands big.

Sunpharma is constantly on the look out for opportunities and whatever options there may be for the expansion. This expansion idea will help company to grow its brands. As already, Revital and Volini are the mega brands in the country. Company wants to bring in more formats, newer extensions, newer programmes etc to make them big.
The smaller brands that got in the portfolio, Sunpharma will certainly look at the opportunities as to the segments that they play and what is the role they can play.
The company announced the roll-out of new 'Volini Spray with 360 degree technology' with tennis star and brand ambassador Sania Mirza. The 'topical pain relief' category, comprising products like gels, balms and sprays, is worth to about Rs 2,500 crore in India.
The company is growing fairly well in the country over the last three years. Within the pain relief segment, Volini is close to 13 per cent market share in the country.
As per the plan to acquire new brands, company is on the look out for opportunities, and if there is an opportunity which fits in with company's strategy, with their business outlook and portfolio, Sunpharma will implement to grow the business.
Recently, Sunpharma Posted a good Q2FY 16 Results, wherein its total income rose by 1.18 per cent to RS 6837.6 crore Q-o-Q basis. EBITDA rose by 4.54 per cent, margin expanded by 91 basis points to 28.28 per cent on sequential basis. The Net Profit stood at Rs 1106.6 crore, jumped by 131 per cent on quarterly basis.
Today, Sunpharma is trading at Rs 756.15 on the BSE, i.e 0.37 per cent higher.
