Siemens wins order of Rs.102 crores for Power Transmission System in West Bengal

Siemens Limited a leading technology enabled solution provider informed the exchange that it has won an order worth approximately Rs.102 crores. The order is to supply a 400 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substation to West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL).

The order is to supply a 400 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substation to West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL). WBSETCL is responsible for transmitting electricity from generating sources to load centres through a transmission network spread across West Bengal.

The scope of the order includes engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the GIS Substation. The 400 kV GIS solution is being manufactured at Siemens Ltd.’s manufacturing plant at Aurangabad.

On the financial front the total operating revenue of Siemens for September ending Q4FY15 stood at Rs.3300 crores an increase of 3.50 percent on year on year (YoY) basis . The EBITDA of the company is at Rs.187 crores an increase of 73.86 percent YoY and EBITDA margin is of 5.66 percent as compared to 3.37 percent for the same period last year. The substantial increase in EBITDA is driven by good operational efficiency of the company. The raw material consumption which is Rs.1488 crores in Q4FY15 consist of 45 percent of the operating revenue decreased by 17.73 percent YoY.

The net profit of the company in Q4FY15 stood at Rs. 219 crores a decrease of 50 percent YoY. The decrease in net profit is because of a decrease in exceptional items earnings by 80 percent in Q4FY15 as compared to the  same period last year.

Today, the stock of the company is trading at Rs.1159.20 an increase of 0.93 percent from the previous close.
