Up, down, up; markets shut in green after day-long dramatic movements

The Indian markets witnessed a massive choppy session on both the sides. Amidst the backdrop of the global scenario, market opened on a positive note. However bears suddenly took charge and benchmark indices drifted lower to touch lows around 7428 mark. While at the closing buzz, bulls pulled up as Sensex and Nifty managed to close on a positive note. The Sensex ended 172 points higher at 24854 and Nifty was up 52 points at 7562. Both the indices closed with a positive bias of 0.70 percent.

The advance-decline ratio ended in the positive towards the closing session. On the NSE, 1913 shares closed in green, while 1414 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Infosys saw the highest gains of 3.2%. Reliance, Tata Motors, Indusind Bank and HCL Tech were the others trading higher.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Idea Cellular closed down by 4.05%. Vedanta, Adani Port, TCS and Lupin were the others trading lower.
8 of the 13 sectors ended in the green. The Auto index was the top gainer, up by 135 points. Bankex and Oil & Gas also ended in the green, up by 118 points and 64 points respectively. However Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were both down around 50 points each.
The Asian markets closed on a positive note. The Nikkei market was the top gainer, up by 496 points. The Hang Seng was higher by 223 points, and KOSPI and Taiwan also ended on a positive note.
Buzzer: Infosys was up by 2.8% and the stock saw a swing move and closed above Rs 1050. Indicating more strength.
The Nifty index managed to closed above the technical level of 7500. This level will be the pivot level for next few trading sessions.
