RPower is now empowered with 38 per cent net profit hike

On financial front, the consolidated net revenue from operations of RPower reached Rs 2562 crores in Q3FY16 compared to Rs 1732 crores in Q3FY15, an increase of 46 per cent year on year (YoY). The EBITDA stood at Rs 1230 crores this quarter, compared to Rs 628 crores in Q3FY15, an increase of 96 per cent YoY. The EBITDA margin of company stood at 48 per cent this quarter compared to 36.25 per cent in Q3FY15. The substantial increase in EBITDA is due to decrease in power and fuel cost, by 0.23 per cent. The net profit stood at Rs 352 crores in Q3FY16 compared to Rs 254 crores in Q3FY15, an increase of 38 per cent YoY.
The nine month ending consolidated net revenue from operations decreased by 53.68 per cent, and reached Rs 8096 crores compared to Rs 5268 crores for the same period last year. The net profit for nine month period stood at Rs 1042 crores compared to Rs 752 crores, an increase of 38.56 per cent from the same period last year.
The total gross generation from operating plants increased by more than three times to 10548 million units as against 3167 million units in Q3FY15. The 3960 MW Susan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) in Madhya Pradesh operated at 93 per cent Plant Load Factor (PLF), best among its peers.
RPower is India's leading private sector power generation and coal resources company. The company has the largest portfolio of power projects in the private sector, based on coal;gas; hydro; and renewable energy with operation capacity of 5945 megawatts. After the result, the stock of company closed at Rs 50.50, an increase of 3.80 per cent from previous close. The scrip is trading at Rs 49.65 today.
