After a desperate fall in the last trading session, the Indian benchmark indices started the Thursday session on a prosperous note owing to positive global cues. However, sentiment turned negative as Asian peers erased all of their gains and Indian markets closed below the neutral line.

However, sentiment turned negative as Asian peers erased all of their gains and Indian markets closed below the neutral line. On the daily chart the index has formed a Tweezer Bottom like pattern. Now going forward level of 7240 would act as a strong support zone and if this level is breached, expect sell-off upto levels of 7180. On the upside, levels of 7300 and 7345 will act as a stiff resistance for the bulls.

 

InterGlobe: InterGlobe Aviation, in its first earning announcement since its listing on the exchanges in December, 2015 reported a surge in net profit to Rs 657.28 crore for the quarter ending as on 31 st December, 2015 as compared to Rs 531.56 in the earlier year.

Max India, Kansai Nerolac and Syngene: Max India will be dropped from the BSE indices from 27 th January following the demerger of its health and allied vertical and speciality film business. Kansai Nerolac Paints and Syngene International will replace its space in BSE 200 and BSE 500, respectively.

Idea Cellular: Aditya Birla Group Company Idea Cellular missed estimates by posting a consolidated net profit of Rs 764 crore for the quarter ended December, 2015, which was down by 5.6 per cent compared with the preceding quarter.

NTPC: The Supreme Court issued notice to state-run power company NTPC on the issue of shutting down its Badarpur Thermal power plant in the capital Delhi. The Delhi Pollution control commission had on 8 th December issued a notice to the NTPC asking it to shut down the plant for exceeding the emission standards. A bench led by Chief Justice T.S Thakur said the plant will have to shut down its operations.

ITC: ITC, one of country’s largest conglomerates is set to announce its earnings for the quarter ended December, 2015.

Cairn India: Cairn Indian Subsidiary of Vedanta Resources is set to announce its quarterly earnings for the quarter ended December, 2015.
