Budget 2016: Total road & highways outlay at Rs 2,21,246 crore; IRB Infra up 3 per cent

Government has earmarked a total of Rs 2,21,246 crore for infrastructure i.e. roads and highways.

Government has earmarked a total of Rs 2,21,246 crore for infrastructure i.e. roads and highways. Rs 55,000 crore has been allocated for roads and highways. An additional top up of Rs 15,000 crore has been allocated through the issuance of long-term bonds by NHAI.

Necessary amendments have been made to open up road transport for passenger segment.

Reacting to the news IRB Infra and J Kumar scrip increased in the range of 2 to 3 per cent, as these stocks will benefit from greater allocation to the infra space.
