Indices bounce back from lower ends, Nifty above 7500 mark

The Indian markets saw a highly volatile session on Wednesday’s trade. The indices opened on a negative note, in the morning session.  And then saw good recovery till the closing, where it closed near the day’s high. At the closing bell, the Nifty ended higher by 46 points at 7531; and the Sensex gained 134 points to close at 24793.

At the closing bell, the Nifty ended higher by 46 points at 7531; and the Sensex gained 134 points to close at 24793.

At closing, the market breadth was positive. On the NSE, 1390 shares closed in the green; and 1208 shares ended the day in the red. 
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Yes Bank closed the day with the most gains on the NSE, as it ended higher by 4.09%. Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Grasim and Bosch were the others that ended higher.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Vedanta was the top loser, as it closed lower by 2.7%. It was followed by BPCL, Hindalco, HDFC and Adani Ports, were the other ended lower. 

Majority of the sectoral indices closed in the green today. Auto was the highest gainer as it gained 212 points by the day’s end. Capital Goods and Bankex were up by 199 points and 146 points respectively. Healthcare and Auto were up by 50 points each. Mid-caps and Small-caps closed higher.   

Amongst the Asian markets, the Nikkei closed down by 140 points. The Hang Seng ended on a nominal negative note, down by 15 points. Shanghai Composite and Taiwan index also closed in red mark.  

Buzzer: The stock of Vedanta is down by 2.7 % and made low around 87.85. If it sustains below 85 mark, it may see more downward movement.

Nifty Futures closed above the 7500 level today. This will be the pivotal level for tomorrow’s trading session.
