Va Tech Wabag achieved the all-time high order book

Va Tech Wabag (VTWL) won orders worth Rs 5000 crore during FY16. The company has secured all time high orders in single fiscal year. The Exim Bank of India funded Polgahawela Water Treatment Plant order has been brought into the company’s firm order book. Earlier, Water Board of Sri Lanka and Exim Bank of India signed loan agreement. Its order is worth USD 108 million (Rs 7178 million). This is the second order secured from Sri Lanka.

In the month of September, VTWL secured Rs 1500 crore Effluent Treatment Plant order from PETRONAS in Malaysia. The company also got an order of Rs 580 crore from Al Madina Al Shamaliya Sewage Treatment Plant order during month of July.  The basic engineering plan has been approved by the client. It has secured Rs 220 crore RWTP order from Dangote Fertilisers in Nigeria. Earlier during the month, VTWL won its first major order from India in the current financial year. The order is worth Rs 594 crore from Chennai Metropolitan Water supply and Sewage Board (CMWSSB) for and construction & maintenance of a 45 MLD Water Reclamation Plant at Koyambedu, Chennai.

According to VTWL’s management the company secured some quality orders and has recorded the highest ever order intake for the group in current financial year. The company has diversified geographical presence with focus on emerging markets. The share price of VTWL is increased by 6.37 per cent in early trades on bourses and is trading at Rs 533 on intraday basis.

VTWL is in the business of water treatment field. The company's principal activities include design, supply, installation, construction and operational management of drinking water, waste water treatment, industrial water treatment and desalination plants. Its industrial water group (IWG) offers water management solutions for steel, petrochemicals, fertilizers, oil and gas, and power industry, among others. VTWL’s operations business group (OBG) operates and maintains more than 70 water and waste water treatment plants.
