Indices ended on lower note, Tata Steel down by 2.8 %, ITC up 5 %

 Indian markets on Monday witnessed choppy action till mid-market session. However on the closing buzz, sectoral indices like healthcare, capital goods, auto and bankex were surrounded in a profit booking scenario. As a result, Sensex slipped below 25250 mark down by 71 points while Nifty ended 18 points down at 7731. Both the indices were down by 0.24-0.28 per cent.

As a result, Sensex slipped below 25250 mark down by 71 points while Nifty ended 18 points down at 7731. Both the indices were down by 0.24-0.28 per cent.

The advance–decline ratio ended on the negative side in the closing session. On the NSE, 1069 shares closed in green, while 1514 shares ended the day in red.

Top Nifty Gainers:- ITC closed the day with the top gain on NSE up by 4.99%, followed by Power Grid Cop, Tata Power, Ambuja Cement and Adani Power.

Top Nifty Losers:- Tata Steel closed the day being the top loser on NSE down by 2.80% followed by Lupin, Bank Of Baroda, ONGC and Cipla.

On the sectoral view, 11 out of 13 ended in the red. Healthcare, capital goods and auto were top losers for the day ending down more than 100 points followed by bankex and IT which were down by 88 points and 92 points respectively. Mid-caps and small-caps also closed down around 35 points. However FMCG and consumer durables were closed in positive territory, up by 163 points and 29 points respectively.   

The Asian markets remained in a mix note. The Nikkei ended the day in a negative note being down by 81 points. The Hang Seng  too closed loser, down by 43 points. The Taiwan and Shanghai Composite ended on positive note.

Buzzers: :- Power Grid witnessed good upward momentum by 2.3 per cent to close at around Rs 150. If it opens above this mark, the stock may touch 155/170 level soon.  

Nifty index has given bearish breakdown at 7770 level and closed around 7740 level, which is indicating weak scenario ahead.
