Markets End Flat in Green

The Indian markets pared some gains in the later hours of trade to close almost flat in green. The main gainers for the day are the Healthcare and Consumer Durables indices closing the day with a modest gain of more than one percentage points. The main draggers are the FMCG and IT indices. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 30.69 points or 0.15 percentage points to close at 20,475.73.  Nifty ends the day at 6159.45 gaining 16.05 points or 0.26 percentage points. Market breadth was negative with 1,429 advances against 1,541 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks retreated for a sixth day, the longest stretch of losses since January 2009, before reports on American home sales and factory orders. U.S. index futures declined, while Asian shares gained.
