Bulls in the lead; BHEL rallies 4.5 per cent

The Indian markets continued with their upward momentum in Monday’s trade also. Capital Goods being the key gainer followed by Oil & Gas and Metal index. The Nifty ended 42 points up at 8370 and the Sensex ended 133 points up at 27278. The global scenario also looked up today.

The advance-decline ratio ended in the positive today. On the NSE, 1721 shares closed in green, while 1017 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: BHEL closed with highest top gains, up by 4.5%. Adani Ports, Tata Motors ( DVR), ICICI Bank and ONGC were the others trading higher.Top 5 Nifty Losers: ITC was down by 2.9% today, followed by Bosch, Dr. Reddy's Labs, IndusInd Bank and Grasim.
12 of the 13 sectors ended in the green. Capital Goods were up by 191 points, followed by Oil & Gas, and Metals, which were up more than 150 points each. While Auto and Bankex gained around 120 points each. Mid-caps and Small-Caps also were higher by 69 points and 120 points respectively. However the FMCG sector witnessed some profit booking, and closed down by 113 points.
The Asian markets closed on a positive note. The Hang Seng market was the top gainer, up by 264 points and Nikkei ended 93 points higher. Shanghai Composite and Taiwan Weighted were also in the green zone.
Buzzers: BHEL. The stock surged by 4.5 per cent to close above the technical level of Rs 135. If it opens and sustains above 140, it may touch 150 mark in next few trading sessions.
Nifty Futures has broken its bullish crossover at 8350 and also managed to close above this level. A positive opening is likely in tomorrow’s trading session.
