Indices witnessed small profit booking, Nifty holds 8300

The Indian markets witnessed small profit booking session on July 05, 2016. The Auto index fell 217 points and Bankex ended 94 points down. The Nifty ended down by 34 points at 8335 level and Sensex ended with 111 points closing on 27166. Both the indices closed down more than 0.40 per cent each.

The advance-decline ratio was on the negative side in the closing session. On the NSE, 1284 shares closed in green, while 1462 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Aurobindo Pharma closed the day as the top gainer on the NSE, up by 1.7%. It is followed by Bosch, Coal India, BHEL and Bharti Infratel, which were the others that closed the day on a positive note.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: GAIL was the top loser, down by 2.5%, followed by Power Grid Corp, Tata Motors(DVR), NTPC and Bharti Airtel.
Most of the broader indices witnessed a fall, and closed on a red note. Auto was the top loser for the day, and cracked by 217 points. It is followed by the Bankex indices which fell by over 94 points. Also IT and Oil & Gas saw negative moves by 50 points each. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps ended on negative note down by 9 points and 13 points.
On the Asian front, The Hang Seng ended the day lower by 308 points. The Nikkei was closed down by 106 points. While the KOSPI and Taiwan ended on a negative note.
Buzzers: GAIL. The stock was down by 2.5 per cent to close below the technical level of 390. If it sustains below Rs 400, it may see more selling ahead.
The Nifty Future closed around 8350 level, for further trading session vital support will be 8280/8220.
