Sensex, Nifty end on tops; Healthcare rocks

In continuation of the scenario seen over the last few days, the Indian markets closed trades on a positive note. After mid-session, the indices saw an excellent up-move, especially in Healthcare index, which closed up by 2.3 per cent. The Nifty ended higher by 37 points at 8565 and Sensex was up by 128 points at 27915.

The Nifty ended higher by 37 points at 8565 and Sensex was up by 128 points at 27915. Both indices ended higher in the range of 0.44-0.46 per cent.
The advance decline ratio ended on the positive side at the closing buzz. 33 stocks closed with green mark whereas, 18 stocks closed in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Aurobindo Pharma was top gainer gain with 5.1% followed by Tata Power, Coal India, BHEL and Cipla.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Wipro was top loser with loss of 1.7% followed by Axis Bank, Hindalco, Tata Motors and ZEEL.
On the sectoral front, 12 out of the 13 sectors ended in the green. Healthcare sector was top gainer and up by 381 points. Whereas Oil & Gas, mid-caps and small-caps sector also were up more than 100 points each. Bankex, Metal and Auto also were up by 60 points to 70 points each. However Consumer Durables index closed in red territory.
The Asian markets were quoting positive; Nikkei was closed in red, down by 41 points. While Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was up by 209 points. Taiwan and Straits Times also closed in positive territory.
In Europe, FTSE opened up by 16 points, DAX opened 139 points higher, and CAC opened 48 points higher.
Derivative Analysis
The Nifty July futures closed above 8550 mark, indicating more positive momentum ahead.
