Bulls take up the reins: Healthcare surges by 1.3 %

The Indian market continues to close in positive territory. The Healthcare major stocks like Aurobindo Pharma, Torrent Pharma and Divis Labs were leading the rally. The Sensex ended 69 points higher at 28059; and Nifty closed up 17 points to 8650. Both the indices closed with a positive bias of 0.21-0.25 per cent.

The advance-decline ratio ended in the negative. On the NSE,  24 shares closed in green, while 27 shares remained in the red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Auropharma was top gainer with 6.9% gains, followed by Tata Power, Maruti, Cipla and ZEEL.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Idea Cellular was the top loser with loss of 2.9%, followed by Lupin, Ambuja Cement, Tata Motor DVR and Tata Steel. 

In today’s trading session majority of the sectors closed on the green mark. Healthcare and Oil & Gas were top gainers, closing with an upmove of more than 150 points. Mid-Caps, Small-Caps, Auto and Bankex also closed on a positive note. However Metals and Capital Goods closed on a negative note.

The Asian markets were quoting in the mix. Japan’s Nikkei was positive, closing up by 99 points.  Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was down by 178 points, and Taiwan closed on the red mark.

European markets were trading in a positive scenario.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty future closed above 8650 mark, indicating more strength ahead.
