Mid-market commentary: September 7, 2016

Indian capital markets are trading flat after witnessing positive opening in early morning. BSE Sensex is up 6.37 points or 0.02 per cent at 28984.39, and the Nifty is down 5.95 points or 0.07 per cent at 8937.05. Nifty failed to sustain 8950 levels.About 1372 shares have advanced, 1122 shares declined, and 143 shares are unchanged.On the sectoral front, all are trading green except Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas.

Meanwhile, Asian markets are trending mixed on Wednesday. Shanghai is up by 0.04 per cent, Nikkei has decreased by 0.41 per cent and Hang Seng has reduced by 0.33 per cent on an intraday basis. 

European indices have started positive, wherein DAX has increased by 0.24 per cent and CAC 40 has risen by 0.34 per cent. FTSE has declined by 0.15 per cent.

WTI Crude Oil has increased by 0.94 per cent to USD 45.25. Brent Crude Oil also has risen by 0.93 per cent to USD 47.70.

Stocks to watch:

GPT Infraprojects: GPT Infraprojects has bagged an order valued at Rs 64 crores.

Tata Motors: JLR has reported solid growth in North America and Europe with retail sales rising 45 per cent and 37 per cent respectively on a yearly basis. Sales have grown by 36 per cent in China but have fallen by 3 per cent in the UK.

Dilip Buildcon: Dilip Buildcon has received Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order from Andhra Pradesh with cost of Rs 350.01 crore having length 57.874 km. The company will complete project within 24 months.

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail: Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail has forayed into a new business segment. The company has introduced all new range of Van Heusen’s men’s innerware and athleisure wear in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad markets.

Finolex Cables: Finolex Cables will launch Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) and Distribution Boards (DB) products on September 15 in domestic markets.
