PWC identifies Tiger Logistics as 'India's Greatest Brand' in the sector--stock surges

Country's leading end-to-end supply chain solutions provider, Tiger Logistics has been recently awarded 'India’s Greatest Brand in the Logistics Sector' for the financial year 2015-16 by Price Water Coopers (PWC). The much-coveted award adds a new dimension in the cap of the logistics player which has been witnessing a steady growth during past six months. 

Meanwhile, Tiger Logistics is diversifying its operations into warehousing and distributions now and while also looking at opportunities using the Eastern India route, i.e. through Bangladesh. Its overseas operations presently include operating from its Dubai and Singapore offices.

The landmark GST laws will benefit the logistics industry the most as it will reduce the cost of the logistics companies by over 50 per cent. Passage of GST Bill in Parliament now will bring changes in the calculations of transportation of goods like number of days, cost of carrying and octroi duty and any such other prevailing taxes. At present, every state levies different rates of taxes which affects business decisions on logistics and distribution systems. Tiger is going to heavily benefit from GST like other players in this segment. 

Shares of the company on September 20, as on 10.43 am is trading at Rs 271.45, up by 1.36 per cent. Share of the company in the last six months has given a return of 77 per cent, making it a hot bet in the group index B. In the last one year, scrip of the company has surged by over 109 per cent and now with its expansion plans in place, market experts believe further climb of Tiger Logistics which is listed only in the BSE as of today.
