Power Grid Corporation of India’s (PGCIL) wholly owned subsidiary, Vizag Transmission has secured Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB). The company has successfully completed the element Srikakulam - Vemagiri 765 kV D/c line on September 30, 2016.

The company has successfully completed the element Srikakulam - Vemagiri 765 kV D/c line on September 30, 2016. The other element of the Project Khammam - Nagarjunasagar 400kV D/C was completed in last fiscal. After completion of both lines, PGCIL achieved completion of project.
PGCIL’s wholly owned subsidiary, Powergrid Unchahar Transmission also secured Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB). The company has successfully completed the project comprising the element Unchahar-Fatehpur 400 kV D/c line. It also started commercial operation on October 01, 2016.
On Friday, the share price of PGCIL declined by 0.51 per cent on bourses; and closed at Rs 177 on an intraday basis.
PGCIL is a transmission company engaged in the power transmission business with responsibility for planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of Inter-State Transmission System and operation of National and Regional Load Dispatch Centres. The company's segments include Transmission, Telecom and Consultancy. It has approximately 210 sub-stations.
