Banking stocks together contribute more than 35 per cent of Sensex fall

BSE Sensex is trading red at 27614 levels with the index down by almost 475 points on Thursday. Banking stocks have been beaten down the most and have contributed maximum to the Sensex fall.

Put together SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank have contributed to more than 35 per cent of the Sensex fall. All four banking stocks have contributed to 37 per cent of Sensex fall on Thursday.
SBI is down by almost 3.52 per cent or Rs 9 per share , HDFC Bank is down by 1.69 per cent or Rs 24.20 per share. Axis Bank is down by 2.42 per cent or Rs 12 per share. ICICI Bank is down by 4.10 per cent or Rs 10.25 per share.
Bank Nifty has lost almost 481 points on an intraday basis and is trading at 18897.25 levels. The index is down by almost 2.80 per cent.
