Bajaj Auto posts stable Q2FY17 numbers

Bajaj Auto (BAL) has declared its Q2FY17 results on Friday. The company’s revenue has increased by 0.39 per cent to Rs 6432 crore in Q2FY17 as compared to same period in previous financial year.

Its EBITDA has declined by 1.67 per cent to Rs 1295 crore in Q2FY17 on a yearly basis. BAL’s net profit has risen by 7.2 per cent to Rs 1201 crore in Q2FY17 as compared to same period in previous fiscal.
On sales point of view, BAL’s domestic sales increased by 22 per cent to 653928 vehicles in Q2FY17 on yearly basis. The company’s exports sales are down by 27 per cent to 378017 vehicles in Q2FY17 as compared to same period in previous financial year.
BAL’s success of domestic new launches in the 100cc segment like Platina and CT 100 led to good growth in domestic segment. The company’s new launches in the premium segment like V15 and Avenger series have been seeing good demand. Its market share in domestic motorcycle segment has remained stable at 20 per cent in Q2FY17.
The share price of BAL increased by 2.3 per cent on bourses in early trades and is trading at Rs 2816.7 on intraday basis.
