Indian markets extend losses of about 2.38 per cent through the week

Indian markets have shed their gains since the start of Samvat 2073 due to nervousness on the outcome of the US presidential election. All sectoral indices tumbled with heavy losses except FMCG and IT.
Indian markets have shed their gains since the start of Samvat 2073 due to nervousness on the outcome of the US presidential election. All sectoral indices tumbled with heavy losses except FMCG and IT. Meanwhile, Bank Nifty was down 120.6 points at 19058.1. The Sensex declined 156.13 points to close at 27274.15, while Nifty lost 51.2 points to close at 8433.75.
The advance-decline ratio ended negative in the closing session. On the NSE, 167 shares closed in the green, while 1345 shares ended the day in the red.
Healthcare index tumbled almost 4.16 per cent to 15150.31 on intraday basis.
Sectoral indices such as Metals, Consumer Durables and Capital Goods dwindled more than 200 points and closed in the negative in Friday’s session. Mid-cap and Small-cap indices also closed in the red with a loss of 1.34 per cent and 2.2 per cent, respectively.
The Asian markets too closed in the red. Shanghai, Hang Seng and Nikkei 225 declined 0.12 per cent, 0.18 per cent, 1.34 per cent, respectively. The European markets are trading with heavy losses.
Derivative Analysis:
Nifty Future continued to fall but was able to sustain at 8400 levels, indicating a consolidation move ahead.
