Easing Inflation Helps the Market to Close in Green

The Indian markets witnessed positive upswing in the second half of the trading session. The markets were able to shed early losses and close on a positive note on better inflation numbers which played a positive part in the recovery. Inflation eased to 7.48 per cent in November indicating that central bank may pause rate hike on Thursday, and focus on easing the cash crunch. Consumer Durables was the main gainer this day closing the day with a gain of more than three percentage points followed by the Metal and PSU indices. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 107.41 points or 0.55 percentage points to close at 19,799.194. Nifty ends the day at 5944.10 gaining 36.45 points or 0.62 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,927 advances against 933 declines on BSE. On the global front, Asian markets also creeped higher amid cautious trading. China's Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.1 per cent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.5 per cent, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average was flat, South Korea's Seoul Composite was up 0.6 per cent.
