After weak sales in November and December 2016, Tata Motors expects sales of commercial vehicles (CV) to improve substantially in Q4FY2017 due to pre-buying before the implementation of BS–IV emission norms w.e.f. April 2017. According to the company, the new emission norms would lead to price hike of around 7-10 per cent, pressurising fleet operators to prepone purchases.

Further, to gain market share in the LCV space, Tata Motors launched the new Tata Xenon Yodha range of pick-up trucks. As per the company, the Yodha range is suitable for diverse commercial usages, viz. transporting agri-produce (fruits and vegetable), poultry, fish, milk, a cash van, a service support vehicle at construction sites. The vehicle is available in multiple variants – 4×2 and 4×4 and in single and double cab options at prices starting from Rs.6.05 lakh (single cab – BS-III) and Rs 6.19 lakh (single cab – BS-IV). As per the company, the vehicle also offers first-in-segment customized free AMC package of 3 years/1 lakh km and a warranty of three years or 3,00,000 km (whichever is earlier).
