Bulls charge up Thursday session

Indian markets traded firmly on Thursday. The bulls charged up the entire trading session and ended their run on a higher ground. BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed about 0.92 per cent and 1.02 per cent upside. At the closing bell, Nifty ended 83 points up at 8,273 and the BSE Sensex increased 245 points to close at 26,878. All sectoral indices closed in the green, except IT.

The advance-decline ratio stood positive in the closing session. On the NSE, 44 shares closed in the green, while 7 shares ended the day in the red.

Metals and Auto indices shot up by more than 310 and 379 points. Bankex and Oil & Gas rose 276 and 222 points, respectively. Capital Goods and Healthcare indices increased more than 150 points each, while IT index declined 78 points. Mid-caps index was up by 161 points and Small-caps was up by more than 120 points.

The Asian markets closed on a mixed note on Thursday. Shanghai and Hang Seng closed almost 0.21 per cent and 1.46 per cent up, respectively, while Nikkei declined 0.37 per cent. Meanwhile, KOSPI dropped 0.18 per cent whereas Taiwan rose 0.77 per cent.

The European markets were trading on a negative trend.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty future closed on a positive note above 8250 mark. Going ahead, 8323/8219 will be the immediate support levels.
