TCS Q3 profit seen down 1.5%, revenue seen up 1%

TCS, country’s largest technology market cap, is likely to post its Q3FY17 earnings report after market hours, today. According to the street estimates, the company may post weak earnings due to due to seasonality furloughs, cross currency headwinds and Trump’s policies relating to immigration.

Company may post a de-growth of 1.5 per cent in order to gain a net profit to Rs 6,489 crore and a growth of 1 per cent in revenue to reach it to Rs 29,577 for the quarter ended December 2016. Revenue in dollar terms is likely to increase 0.2 per cent to $ 4,382 million and constant currency revenue to increase by 1 to 1.5 per cent QoQ.
  
However, earlier management had given a positive outlook for Q3 and Q4 earnings with an Indian deal of Rs 180 crore and a possible bounce back in the retail segment. During Q2FY17, digital business contributed 16.1 per cent to the revenues which dropped by 1.5 per cent from the previous quarter. So all eyes are set on the earnings from these two segments.
