Suzlon achieves 10,000 MW installed capacity of wind energy in India

Suzlon Energy, one of the world’s leading renewable energy solutions provider, has achieved the milestone of 10,000 MW installed capacity for wind energy in India. This has been achieved with cumulative wind energy installations of over 7500 wind turbines across India. 

Speaking on the milestone, Tulsi Tanti, Chairman & MD Suzlon Group said, "This landmark achievement is a testament of the customer confidence in Suzlon’s technologically advanced products and project execution and service capabilities. We are proud to have played a pioneering role in providing clean energy solutions to the nation and making a significant contribution to its energy security and sustainability. We remain committed to enable the government in achieving its target of 40 per cent renewable energy by 2030.’’

Suzlon of late been trying to cut down on its huge debt level, which has hampered its growth prospects. The company has been trying to pay off its debt through sale of non-core portfolio of assets and also renegotiating its terms of engagement with the lenders in order to have a more sustainable financial position.

The stock of Suzlon closed with gains of close to one percentage point at Rs 15.20 on the NSE.
