Adani Power may post Q3 net loss, but likely to recover

Adani Power, the power generation arm of Adani Group’, is expected to declare its Q3FY17 results on January 20, 2017. According to the street estimates, company’s topline may decline by 2 per cent in the quarter to Rs 6069 crore as against Rs 6191 crore YoY.

The company’s EBITDA is expected to decline four per cent to Rs 1927 crore, as compared to Rs 2008 crore, whereas EBITDA margin may come in at 31.8 per cent as against 32.4 per cent YoY. Also, the company is expected to post a net loss of Rs 82 crore, as against a net profit of Rs 102 crore. However, the company is expected to stage a recovery in net loss on QoQ basis. The company’s interest cost is expected to decline in Q3. The offtake from Mundra plant is expected to remain low and the company is likely to face shortage of coal at Kawai plant while the Udupi plant may post strong plant load factor (PLF).
