Anchor investors show faith in BSE, bourse raises Rs 373 cr

The much-awaited Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) initial public offering (IPO) will open for subscription on January 23 but it has got subscribers beforehand. The Asia's oldest stock exchange has raised Rs 373 crore from the anchor investors. It had allotted a share to the anchor investor at a price of Rs 806.

Goldman Sachs, DSP Blackrock, Capital World, Reliance Capital Trustee Company, Citi group, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, Kotak Mutual Fund, IDFC Mutual Fund and Kuwait Investment Authority Fund are the anchor investor for the BSE IPO.

The exchange is planning to raise upto Rs 1,243 crore from the IPO. This will be the first IPO by a domestic exchange. Currently, there are 9,000 shareholders who are holding the BSE shares and most of them are brokers.

BSE shares will be listed on NSE as SEBI rules do not allow self-listing for an exchange.
