GIPCL commissions 16.8 MW WTG in Porbandar

State-run power major, Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL), is commissioning a 16.8 MW (8 WTGs x 2.1 MW) Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) at the Kuchhdi Wind Farm in Porbandar district, Gujarat. A commissioning certificate has been issued by Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) for the same.

Besides, the company already has its power generation plants across Vadodara and Surat which includes two gas-based power plants in Vadodara and one solar power plant of 5 MW in Surat. GIPCL has also set up two thermal power plants in Surat namely, Surat Lignite Power Plant (Unit 1 and 2) and Surat Lignite Power Plant (Unit 3 and 4) with a capacity of 250 MW each. The gas-based power plants in 'Vadodara Station 1' has a capacity of 145 MW while 'Vadodara Station 2' has a capacity of 165 MW.

However, with this new commissioned WTG plant in Porbandar, GIPCL may see a further increase in its presence in Gujarat.

Meanwhile, after this GIPCL report, its shares has gained as much as 2.12 per cent, to make a high of Rs 113 per share on Tuesday.
