Traders lap up Somany Ceramic post strong quarterly performance

Somany Ceramics Ltd. reported its results for the quarter ended December 31, 2016.
The total sales for Q3FY17 came in at Rs.438.73 crore, which represents a 6.19 per cent sequential decline and 1.56 per cent YoY increase.

The operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter amounted to Rs 32.31 crore and the EBIT margin stood at 7.36 per cent.
In terms of the bottomline, the company reported PAT of Rs 20.18 crore, which represents a sequential QoQ decline of 12.3 per cent and a YoY increase of 45.6 per cent.
The company's stock, which opened for trading at Rs. 565 on the BSE, has risen 11.4 per cent after the results were declared. It touched the day high of Rs 623 and is currently trading around Rs 599.
Somany Ceramics Ltd is an Indian company engaged in the manufacture and marketing of ceramic glazed tiles, vitrified tiles, sanitary ware or porcelain floor tiles. The business activity of company constitutes a single segment, viz. ceramic tiles and allied products.
