Emami soars 3.35 per cent as BSE FMCG gains

The BSE FMCG index is trading at 8580.37 level, up by 16.54 points or 0.19 per cent. The index touched a high of 8611, up by 47.17 points or 0.55 per cent on an intra-day basis.
Emami Ltd is the top gainer among the BSE FMCG stocks, trading at Rs 1048.45, up by 3.35 per cent. ITC,, the heavyweight stock of the FMCG index, contributed the most to the index gains and was trading up by 0.88 per cent at Rs 258.05.
Dhampur Sugar took the second slot after Emami, trading at Rs 177.45, up by 1.75 per cent.
Pioneer Distilleries Ltd, Colgate Palmolive India Ltd and DFM Foods Ltd are some of the other stocks that are trading in the green.
