  Auto stock slips; drags Sensex down

Sensex opened higher by 3.95 points, and is oscillating in the range of 28,361-28,483. ITC touched its fresh 52-week high and pulled the Sensex up for few minutes in the early hour trading.

Sensex opened higher by 3.95 points, and is oscillating in the range of 28,361-28,483. ITC touched its fresh 52-week high and pulled the Sensex up for few minutes in the early hour trading. However, major auto stocks like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M), Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp are showing weakness in Tuesday's trading session, dragging the Sensex downwards. 

At about 11:40 am, the Sensex fell 76.63 points or 0.24 per cent at 28,369.75. Similarly, the NSE Nifty was down 24.95 points or 0.28 per cent at 8,776.10. 
 
Tata Motors is trading at Rs 515.25 per share, down by 1.91 per cent. M&M is trading at Rs 1,256.65 per share, down by 0.84 per cent. Bajaj-Auto is trading at Rs 2,756.80 per share, down by 1.33 per cent. Hero MotoCorp is trading at Rs 3,236.90 per share, down by 0.9 per cent.
 
Meanwhile, these four stocks are contributing to 80 per cent of the BSE Auto index's fall.
