Energy stocks slip; BSE Energy index strikes balance

The major benchmark indices slipped during the afternoon hours on Tuesday. Hindustan Petroleum is down by 4.18 per cent, BPCL is down by 1.81 per cent, Gulf Petrol is down by 1.67 per cent.

Hindustan Petroleum is down by 4.18 per cent, BPCL is down by 1.81 per cent, Gulf Petrol is down by 1.67 per cent, Chennai Petroleum Corporation is down by 1.54 per cent, Coal India is down by 1.34 per cent, Cairn India is down by 1.08 per cent and Indian Oil Corporation is down by 0.49 per cent.
However, there are few stocks that are also trading in green like Reliance Industries is up by 2.01 per cent, ONGC is up by 1.48 per cent, Selan Exploration Technology is up by 0.61 per cent and Petronet LNG is up by 0.52 per cent. The BSE Energy index is trading at 3,132.87 levels and is up by 11.21 points, at 0.36 per cent.
