Markets gain as bulls take charge

Indian markets traded cautiously, but trading picked up pace in the last hour of trading on Tuesday. BSE Sensex and Nifty increased owing to surge in banking stocks.
Indian markets traded cautiously, but trading picked up pace in the last hour of trading on Tuesday. BSE Sensex and Nifty increased owing to surge in banking stocks. Axis Bank increased 4.99 per cent on an intra-day basis and closed at Rs 504.6.
At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 8907 with gain of 28 points and BSE Sensex closed at 28761 with gain of 100 points. On the NSE, 31 shares closed in the green, while 20 shares ended the day in the red.
All indices closed in the green, except IT. Consumer Durables increased more than 330 points. Bankex rose 227 points. Oil & Gas also increased 109 points. However, IT declined 17 points. Mid-cap increased 70 points and Small-cap rose 62 points.
Asian markets remained mixed on Tuesday. Shanghai rose 0.41 per cent. Hang Seng declined 0.76 per cent. Nikkei rose 0.68 per cent. European markets were trading mixed.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty Future closed with a positive bias at 8908. Going ahead, 8962/8894 will be the immediate support levels.
