Jio 'Acche Din' for cell-users: to counter big M, Airtel, Idea, Vodafone launch 'more attractive options'

Amidst Reliance Jio's big announcement on Tuesday about its new schemes retaining loyal customers, Airtel, Vodafone & Idea have launched many attractive schemes also to counter the 'free' schemes of Jio.

Reliance Jio's new plan called Jio Prime, allow users to extend free voice calls, free internet and unlimited text messages for one more year, after the previous free scheme that expires on March 31. The new plan enable users to enjoy mobile data at 4G speed, with the daily limit of 1GB and other data services for Rs 303 a year, which amounts to Rs 10 per day. 

To counter this, Vodafone announced seven 4G plans for prepaid users recently. It allow users to get 1GB of 4G data at Rs 150, which would be valid for 30 days. However, unlike Jio, there is no daily limit in its plans. 

Similarly, Airtel has two plans on offer that gives some sort of a competition to Reliance Jio. For its prepaid users, the company has introduced 30 GB of 4G data at Rs 1,495 for three months. The telecom company also offers data worth Rs 9,000 for 12 months to customers who switch to Airtel 4G. However, this offer can be availed only till February 28, 2017. Meanwhile, for its postpaid users, Airtel introduced free 3GB data per month with MyPlan Infinity Plans. Under this scheme, customers with any 4G mobile handset who are not on the Airtel network or upgrading to a new 4G device, will get 3 GB free data per month, with all MyPlan Infinity plans.  

In addition to this, Idea has also announced a new plan recently, under which, it is offering 3GB of additional mobile data to customers who switch to new 4G handsets. For its existing prepaid 4G customers, 1GB of data on Rs 348 recharge pack, in addition to unlimited voice calling and SMS is available. And, for postpaid customers with 999 monthly plan, users will get all benefits of Rs 499 plan.
