Maruti registers double digit sales growth in Feb

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., sold a total of 1,30,280 units in Feb 2017, reflecting a yoy increase of 10.9 per cent.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., sold a total of 1,30,280 units in Feb 2017, reflecting a yoy increase of 10.9 per cent. Domestic market accounted for 1,20,735 units, reflecting a yoy increase of 11.7 per cent; and exports tallied to 9,545 units, reflecting a yoy increase of 2.2 per cent.

Demand for utility vehicles, which includes Gypsy, Ertiga, S-cross and Brezza, surged by 110.5 per cent yoy, to 17,863 units. Vans' sales increased by 13.7 per cent yoy, to 14195 units, which includes Omni and Eeco. Compact cars, which includes Swift , Ritz, Baleno, Ignis, Celerio and Dzire saw an increase of 9.4 per cent yoy to 47002 units. In the Mid-Size segment, Ciaz's sales increased by 14 per cent yoy, to 5886 units. However, it witnessed poor performance in Mini Car and Super Compact segment, which includes Alto, WagonR and Dzire, showing a decline of 6.8 per cent and 26.9 per cent yoy, respectively.  

Maruti Suzuki’s stock opened for trading on BSE at Rs 5922.85; rose 0.34 per cent; and is trading around Rs 5943 currently. It saw an intraday high of 5997.
