Job profile

• Strong conceptual and brainstorming skills. Should read the story before making the layout. Should be able to bring out theme of the story though visuals. Each visual must convey the story. Should be able to lead and co-ordinate with DTP team to ensure that each and every page of the magazine looks uniform, yet distinct.
• The job also involves creating a template for each and every page so that DTP follows the same.
• Should ensure that template has been followed
• Should have a strong sense for choosing the right photographs. Photo selection should go well with theme of the story / interview.
• Review of the magazine after printing for mistakes / areas for improvement
• Strong co-ordination with pre-press and press to meet deadlines
• Strong co-ordination with editorial and space selling team to make pagination and form
• Make post-closure report on the delivery schedule from the editorial and space selling team
• Prepare a report on the magazine in terms of quality of printing and taking up the same with printing press
• Make an attractive cover that appeals to readers and at the same time conveys the theme of the cover story
• Should be able to leave a lot of breathing space in the layout
• Use lot of smart graphics to make an effective pictorial presentation
• Establish and improve processes and procedures for DTP
• Team-building – should be involved in recruiting and training right candidates
• Checking quality of paper after printing
• Attending the editorial meeting and discuss about the the theme of the story with colleagues to have a better perspective of the content
