Adani Group to set up Rs 10,000 crore UMPP in Jharkhand

The Gautam Adani-led conglomerate Adani Group will soon launch its 1,600 MW ultra mega power project (UMPP) at Godda, Jharkhand in June 2017.
Acting on the commitment to invest Rs 20,000 crore in various projects across Jharkhand at the Jharkhand Investment Summit, the Gautam Adani-led conglomerate Adani Group will soon launch its 1,600 MW ultra mega power project (UMPP) at Godda in June 2017.
The company has acquired about 1,000 acres of land for the Rs 10,000 crore UMPP..
The MOU has already been signed by the company for the establishment of the UMPP. Besides the UMPP, the company has committed to setting up a 500 MW power plant worth Rs 3,000 crore along with establishment of an integrated fertiliser complex and an investment of Rs 700 crore in coal block mining.
The Adani group's projects are likely to generate employment opportunities for three lakh people in the state of Jharkhand.
