Mahindra to introduce new MPV

Mahindra & Mahindra to come up with new Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV), and it is being developed at Mahindra's Vehicle Development Centre- Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai.
Mahindra is planning to launch a new MPV (codenamed as U321), which is being developed at Mahindra's Vehicle Development Centre- Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai.
According to a leading business daily, Mahindra U321 will be a regular MPV, and it will have some premium features such as projector headlamps with LED DRLs and a windscreen with rear wipers, which hints that the vehicle could be positioned as a family mover, and will possibly replace Xylo, which could then be used for fleet services solely. The U321 is expected to get engine options based on the XUV 500, a 1.99 litre and 2.2 litre m-Hawk engine.
Mahindra and Mahindra is also investing Rs 1,500 crore in its Nasik and Igatpuri facility for development and manufacturing of the upcoming MPV.
The U321 with a new 1.5 litre petrol engine, is expected to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga petrol. The engine might be getting a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, and will be getting a 4WD or Front wheel drive configuration.
