Indian capital markets extended losses on the last day of the week. Markets have erased entire month’s gain in the indices and closed at two-week low.

Indian capital markets extended losses on the last day of the week. Markets have erased entire month’s gain in the indices and closed at two-week low. Nifty was not able to hold the level of 9200.

At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9150, with loss of 52 points and BSE Sensex closed at 29461, a decline of 182 points. On the NSE, 17 shares closed in the green, while 34 shares ended the day in the red.

All indices closed in the red, except Bankex, Healthcare and Oil & Gas. Metals dragged the markets most with loss of 331 points. IT also dropped 273 points as Infosys dropped the most. Capital Goods declined 169 points. However, Oil & Gas increased 146 points. Mid-cap index rose 4 points and Small-cap increased 28 points.

Asian markets traded mixed on Thursday. Shanghai increased 0.07 per cent, Hang Seng decreased 0.21 per cent. Nikkei declined 0.68 per cent. European markets were trading on weak sentiments.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty Future closed in the negative at 9179. Going ahead, 9231/9093 will be the immediate support levels.
