Balaji Telefilms has announced its foray into digital world through the launch of video-on-demand app under the ALTBalaji app which will be operational from this Sunday.

Balaji Telefilms has launched this app with a view to create original shows for India & Indians abroad, for consumption on their personal devices, at time and place of their choice. This platform is expected to deliver 250+ hours of original exclusive content to its subscribers which will be ad free. This will be a subscription based platform which is targeted for 19yr-34yr age group.
With this app Balaji Telefilms will have to compete with big players like Netflix and Amazon Prime, which already have a huge customer base in India. Satellite- network owned Star India’s Hotstar and ditto TV are also getting viewers attention.The company plans to invest up to Rs 400 cr in the app in future.
