TCS reports soft Q4FY17 numbers

TCS registered 8.6 per cent YoY growth in revenue to Rs. 117966 for the financial year 2017. Also, the company's net profit grew at 8.3 per cent YoY to Rs 26,357 crore.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., India's largest IT services company, reported its results for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 today. 

The company's total sales for Q4FY17 came in at Rs 29,642 crore, which represents a 0.31 per cent sequential decline and 4.19 per cent YoY increase.

Its operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter was Rs 7627 crore and its EBIT margin was 25.73 per cent.

The company reported PAT of Rs 6622 crore, which represents a sequential QoQ decline of 2.82 per cent and a YoY increase of 4.33 per cent.
 
The company's board of directors has recommended a final dividend of Rs 27.50 per equity share on FV Re 1 each.

Further, attrition rate for the quarter stood at 10.5 per cent in IT services, while the company added 8726 employees during the quarter.

The TCS stock opened for trading at Rs. 2325 on the BSE and remained flat during the entire trading session. However, it dropped 0.5 per cent and closed at Rs. 2308.65 at the end of the session.
