Tata Power to facilitate electricity distribution in Ajmer; signs agreement

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company announced the execution of a distribution franchise agreement for the distribution of electricity in Ajmer, Rajasthan, on April 21, 2017.

In agreement with Ajmer vidyut vitran nigam (AVVNL), Tata Power will facilitate the operation, maintainence and billing for the distribution network in Ajmer circle for a period of 20 years through its newly formed special purpose company, 'TP Ajmer Distribution'.
In its operational areas in Delhi, Tata Power has pulled down the losses in the segment from a whopping 53 per cent in 2002 to 8.8 per cent in 2017. The agreement is also expected to be fruitful for customers as well as AVVNL, as Tata Power is likely to improve distribution with its strategic planning, transparency and customer oriented methods.
At 12:17 hrs IST on April 21, 2017, Tata Power is trading at Rs 84.40, up by 0.30 per cent on the BSE.
