Tata Motors to supply Safari Storme to the armed forces

One of the largest suppliers to the defence sector, Tata Motors, won another contract to supply 3,192 units of Tata Safari Storme 4x4 to the Indian Armed Forces.

One of the largest suppliers to the defence sector, Tata Motors, won another contract to supply 3,192 units of Tata Safari Storme 4x4 to the Indian Armed Forces, fulfilling all the criteria prescribed by the Ministry of Defence, including minimum payload capacity of 800 kgs, hard roofs and air conditioning.

The vehicle also completed a 15 month trial duration, covering various terrains across the country. The supply of the indigenously produced SUV will be under a new category of vehicles titled 'GS800 (General Service 800)'.

Introduced in 2012, the updated version of Safari Storme has power of 156 PS and 400 nm torque with easy drivability, swifter response, lower NVH (noise, vibration and harshness), high fuel efficiency, a ground clearance of 200mm and ESOF (electronic shift-on-fly) technology.

As on April 27, 2017, the stock traded at Rs 460, up by 2.04 per cent on the BSE at 12:30 hrs IST.
